Family Ministry
We want to see children of all ages hungering and thirsting for more of God in their lives. We want the children in our church being equipped to hear from God and to pray with compassion and expectancy. We want to give our children a voice to respond to what God is doing in their hearts and to worship and praise Him. We want to see our kids serving others and responding with compassion to God’s heart for the poor and the lost. We want to spend as much time as possible teaching our children about God’s awesome love and power and seeing that impact the way they live.
Why?
Because we believe it’s the most relevant, most inspiring, most exciting thing we can give them, and so we do kids ministry believing there is going to be a supernatural touch from God every single week. In BCV we want to see our whole church equipped to live in the reality and purposes of God’s plans. So from the tiniest baby upwards, we want to declare to the kids in our church the reality of who God made them to be.
How?
We have a variety of programmes on Sunday mornings that run for the duration of the church service. Parents or guardians need to sign their children in from 10.50am at the Kids Welcome area. The leaders will be waiting to show them to their room and help them settle in.
Launch Pad
This is our programme for 0-2 year olds. Babies older than six months can be left in the care of our team for the duration of the service. Babies under six months can bring their parents!
We know that God has a special plan for your child, from the minute He created them, and we believe that it is never too early to show the babies in our church just how special they are! At Baby Vines, they will be loved, played with, prayed for and introduced to their father God in a way that is relevant to them, through puppets, singing and toys.
Belfast City Vineyard has been so blessed by the number of new babies in church now. There is a Nursing Mother’s room with baby changing facilities available on Sunday mornings. We love to see parents meet other parents and their babies, and we want to serve you and support you and your family.
The Launchpad leaders are divided up into 4 teams and serve once a month and commit on a yearly basis. If you would like to perhaps get involved in this ministry and what to find out more details, please contact our children’s pastor, Katie Rogers by emailing katie@belfastcityvineyard.com or contact the Vineyard Centre.
Blast Off
Blast Off is our programme for preschoxol children aged 2-4 years old.
Our leaders will be there to meet your child every week, and to make sure they are settled in. They will have space to play, chat, make things, and learn about God through stories, drama, singing and prayer ministry time.
We are excited to show God’s love to the smallest members in our church. Our leaders can’t wait to see your children engage with God in a way that is relevant to their age and ability. We are so privileged to meet your little ones too, and see them blessed by God and learning to respond in their own unique, very special way.
The ministry leader for Blast Off is Lucy Lewis. There are 4 teams who serve once a month, and commit on a yearly basis. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Katie Rogers by emailing katie@belfastcityvineyard.com or contact the Vineyard Centre and you will be introduced to Lucy.
The Engine Room
This group is for all primary school aged children, and runs for the duration of the service.
We want to create a space where kids can learn to do all the things the adults do on Sunday and more! They have their own children’s pastor and worship leaders with bands, and lots of the kids are learning to join in with their own instruments too. We learn from the Bible every week, and have time to chat and learn from each other.
We believe the children are the future leaders of our church, and therefore we encourage them to join in with teaching, leading games, making suggestions, leading worship, listening and talking to God and helping others. Each Sunday morning uses lots of energy, imagination and is loads of fun!
There are 4 teams in The Engine Room and 4 worship bands and a separate Big Night Out team who serve once a month, and commit on a yearly basis. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Katie Rogers by emailing katie@belfastcityvineyard.com or contact the Vineyard Centre.
The Edge
The Edge is our ministry for those in Years 8-10. Most Sundays we meet after worship in the 10am service - as the announcements begin just follow the guys who are heading out the back! Once a month we meet for the entire service and have our own time of worship, so if you are with us on a Sunday morning for the first time, stop by the Welcome Cafe for details on what is happening that morning.
We want to see our young people welcomed and valued, and encouraged to love and follow Jesus extravagantly. We want to build a community of young people in our church who love and serve each other and the world around them. Sunday mornings can involve lots of different things - discussion groups, games, question times, Bible studies, worship, prayer, breakfast and performing the occasional puppet show.
Cathay Burnside is the ministry leader for the Edge. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Alan Carson by emailing
alan@belfastcityvineyard.com Vineyard Centre and he will introduce you to Cathay.
The Hub
“A place of discovery, challenge and growth centred on Jesus.”
It is our heart to see young people encounter Jesus, be profoundly impacted by his love for them, respond by devoting their lives to him and being further transformed in a way that deeply impacts the community in which they live. We want to enable them to engage effectively within their own culture, serve in the wider church family and to live their lives honestly before others.
The Hub is open to anyone of years 11-14 age. They meet on Sunday nights from 7.30pm – 9.30pm at Oasis Cafe, Castlereagh Street, Belfast, BT5 4NJ
Ben Ewan is the ministry leader for the Hub. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Alan Carson by emailing alan@belfastcityvineyard.com or contact the Vineyard Centre and he will introduce you to Ben.
The Marriage Course
The aim of the marriage course is to help couples grow closer and build a healthy relationship that will last a lifetime. This is a 7 week course taking place in a coffee shop where married couples sit alone and can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in each other’s company. Beverages, snacks, dessert, tea/coffee are provided by candlelight. A DVD will play at the start of the evening followed by a private time for each couple to work through an exercise outlined in the course booklet. Topics covered include building strong foundations, the art of communication, resolving conflict, the power of forgiveness, the impact of family – past and present, good sex and love in action.
Each couple’s privacy is respected as there is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about their relationship to anyone else. The course, while based on Christian principles, is very helpful for any couple with or without Christian faith or church background.
Pete & Rosie O’Halloran and their team are the leaders for the Marriage Course at Belfast City Vineyard.
The Marriage Course will run again in 2011. To express your interest, email Wes
