Discipleship And Pastoral Care

One of the roles God has given Belfast City Vineyard is a place where we can come and get healed up from our past hurts acquired by the sin committed against us and the sin that we have committed against others. We have specific environments designed to provide places for this type of healing in our lives, where people are being set free from addiction, unforgiveness, fear, and hopelessness and pointed to a relationship with Jesus that is life-changing and healthy.

Homegroups

Home groups meet weekly in various homes and venues across Belfast and surrounding areas. Alongside the large group gatherings on Sunday, these provide a place to really know and be known by others. Highly relational and fun, with worship, sharing, prayer ministry and plenty of food, this is the place where we grow as we live life with others in a more intimate setting.

Gospel of Wholeness

Gospel of Wholeness is a one to one course designed to help individuals form a relationship with Jesus that is really close, personal and foundational. We have been trained to think that in order to get close to God, we must first obey him, then depend on him, then one day, we will be close to Him. God’s heart for us is the opposite. As a loving Father, He wants us to first experience His love, then begin to depend on Him, and out of this comes a real desire to obey Him. Individuals will be assigned a coach who they will meet with over a space of 6 – 10 weeks where there will be weekly teaching and homework.

Freedom in Christ

A 13 week course with a ‘Day Away’ which aims to equip every follower of Jesus to reach their full potential in Christ. The teaching is broken down into 4 parts; the key truths we need to know, the things that try to keep us from the truth (the world, the flesh and the devil). How we can, in Christ, resolve the negative effects of the past and finally, ensuring that we head off in the right direction towards fruitfulness by being equipped to stand firm and understand godly guidelines for relationships with others and goals in our lives.

A run of the Freedom in Christ course just finished at the end of 2009. We hope to have another course later in 2010.

The ministry leader for the Freedom in Christ course at Belfast City Vineyard is Andrew Cummings. He has a great team on board with him. If you would like to get in touch to book onto the next course or to find out more information, you can send you details into the office info@belfastcityvineyard.com and we will have the team contact you.

D1

This is a 6 week course exploring what it means to have an intimate, life-changing relationship with God. The weekly topics are presented in a short talk, and then discussed in small groups. It’s a great place to meet new people and relate to one another on a personal level in a relaxed coffee shop setting, forming lasting relationships. From intimacy with Jesus, to how to spend time with Jesus, to the Kingdom of God, to how to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, to how to forgive from the heart to what is and how do we worship God?

D1, Monday nights, 7.30pm - 9.30pm in the Oasis Cafe, 13th September - 18th

Should you require any further information or would like to sign up for this course, please contact Alan Carson by emailing alan@belfastcityvineyard.com

D2

This is the sequel to D1. A 6 week course with the same setting and should be with mostly the same people that have just gone through D1 together. Where D1 looked at how we relate to God, D2 takes a look at how we are to relate to the world around us as mature followers of Jesus. During these 6 weeks the following will be covered; healthy communication skills, spiritual gifts, prayer ministry training, evangelism & prophetic training, generosity & compassion.

D2, Wednesday nights, 7.30pm - 9.30pm in the Oasis Cafe, 15th September - 20th October

Should you require any further information or would like to sign up for this course, please contact Alan Carson by emailing alan@belfastcityvineyard.com

Extended Prayer Ministry

One of the benchmarks of Jesus’ ministry was praying for others on a regular basis with compassion and effect.  He trained His followers to do the same which is why we want to be a community of people that learn to pray for people with the same compassion and effect.  We offer prayer ministry time on Sundays, in homegroups and at each of our courses. Sometimes there is the need to have extended prayer ministry times.

If you would like to know more about this you can contact Wes Patterson by emailing wes@belfastcityvineyard.com or contact the Vineyard Centre.
